Environmental Law and Construction Law

Freehold

We can advise on numerous issues including for example, the issues that arise when acquiring brownfield sites and we have extensive experience of acting for clients in this area. By way of an example, we have acted for a Regional Development Agency in Portsmouth in the acquisition of a heavily contaminated site from the Ministry of Defence. The site was then remediated and developed for mixed use subject to leasehold interests. Another local example involved the finance, remediation and development of a site between two public sector bodies for the construction of live work units.

Leasehold

We can use “green leases” and can advise on the issues to consider when negotiating such documentation. Our founder has specialists contacts in this field in particular the area of compliance appertaining to the requirement for commercial buildings to have environmental performance certificates. If you want to be one step ahead of the game, call Zoe Tranter on the number advertised.

Construction Law

We can provide advice in relation to amendments to standard form JCT contracts; bonds and guarantees, joint venture agreements, warranties and contract novation.
